Pertama Ferroalloys Supports Local Orphans with “Hearts & Hopes” Community Development Program
Bintulu, Sarawak – October 12, 2024
In a heartwarming initiative aimed at supporting the educational needs of underprivileged children, Pertama Ferroalloys Sdn. Bhd. partnered with PERYATIM Bintulu and Universiti Putra Malaysia Kampus Bintulu (UPMKB) for the “Heart & Hopes” Community Development Program. Held at the PERYATIM orphanage in Kampung Jepak, Bintulu, this community effort sought to empower 53 Muslim orphans, aged 7 to 17, with essential supplies for the school year.
Guided by the theme “Back to School,” the program aimed to uplift the children through donations of clothing, school equipment, and personal support. As part of Pertama Ferroalloys’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, representatives Augustine Lawang and Sylvester Sumping participated in the event, contributing five boxes of clothing, including T-shirts, pants, and sports jerseys.
The initiative aligns with global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those focused on reducing inequalities and supporting quality education. Through donations and programs like this, Pertama Ferroalloys aims to help these children feel a sense of acceptance and belonging within the community, contributing to their self-confidence and well-being.
UPMKB lecturers and students joined the event, raising the total number of participants to 134. This collective effort brought together community members, reinforcing the message that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive.
Pertama Ferroalloys’ contributions, combined with the dedication of other participants, represent more than just material support—they embody the values of love, care, and hope.
