Mukah, October 31, 2024 – The Commerce Research, Innovation, and Technology Exhibition (CTEX) at Politeknik Mukah provided a unique showcase for final-year students in the Department of Commerce. Held at the institution’s Multipurpose Hall, the event featured 17 student groups who presented their innovative projects to a panel of esteemed evaluators, aiming to advance their skills in commerce, research, innovation, and technology.

Augustine Lawang, representing Pertama Ferroalloys, joined a panel of ten evaluators, including prominent figures such as Dr. Yusman Bin Yacob, Head of the Management and Business Faculty at UITM Mukah, and other esteemed professionals in fields ranging from hospitality to human resources and finance.

CTEX, organized by the Trade Department and the Research, Innovation & Commercial Unit (UPIK) of Politeknik Mukah, has been an annual event since 2020. The program serves as a platform for students enrolled in the DPB50163 Business Project course to present their work, accounting for 20% of their overall course assessment. Top-performing groups will represent Mukah Polytechnic in higher-level innovation competitions.

Approximately 70 students from the 2024/2025 session participated, with each group mentored by a lecturer. Augustine shared his appreciation for the students’ efforts: “It’s inspiring to see these young talents present projects that tackle real-world issues. This platform truly nurtures their potential and encourages them to aim higher in their careers.”

The students’ projects, covering a wide range of topics and innovations, were rigorously evaluated by the panel to determine scores for their coursework evaluation. Each project was assessed for creativity, feasibility, and potential impact on the industry, with detailed feedback provided to help students refine their ideas.

The 2024/2025 CTEX program underscored Politeknik Mukah’s dedication to fostering student innovation and creating pathways for academic and industry partnerships. As the event concluded, the organizers and panelists commended the students’ dedication and creativity, promising a bright future for these budding innovators in the field of commerce and technology.
