Pertama Ferroalloys urged to use Japan’s tech for solar battery innovation in Sarawak’s green goals – Dayak Daily
Tokyo, Dec 17 – Pertama Ferroalloys has significant potential to contribute to renewable energy solutions, particularly in solar battery storage, leveraging Japan’s advanced technologies to support Sarawak’s industrial and sustainable development goals. Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg emphasised this during a meeting in Tokyo, Japan, on Monday (Dec 16), where the Sarawak Government, Pertama Ferroalloys, and Japan’s Ministry of Trade, Economy, and Industry (METI) convened to strengthen bilateral cooperation in natural resource development and economic growth. According to a news report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Pertama Ferroalloys unveiled its Green- Triple Nine Manganese initiative as part of its Phase Two operations. “This initiative focuses on producing Electrolytic Manganese Metal (EMM) and High Purity Manganese Sulphate (HPMnS), globally recognized as critical mineral resources. These high-purity products, containing 99.9 percent manganese, are essential for advanced steelmaking and electric vehicle battery production,” the company stated
