Pertama Receives Prestigious World Green Outstanding Sustainable Business Award
Kuching, 4th September 2023 – Pertama Ferroalloys receives prestigious World Green Outstanding Sustainable Business Awards from the 2023 World Green and Sustainability Summit (WGSS) on the 4th of September at USCI Hotel, Kuching, organized by the World Green Organization (WGO), The United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific (KSI).
The event was co-hosted and officiated by the Sarawak Government with the Premier of Sarawak, YAB Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Hj Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Hj Openg.
Mr. Tan Sze Yung, Assistant Deputy General Manager of Pertama Ferroalloys, had the honor of receiving the award by the Premier, Abang Jo himself. This prestigious recognition was granted to Pertama in acknowledgment of its exceptional contributions and exemplary leadership in sustainable initiatives and development.
Pertama was chosen as one of only a select few, not exceeding 20, recipients for this award. The company’s unwavering commitment to the community was exemplified through various initiatives, including its effort in a re-development aimed at enhancing the well-being of its female employees, a RM1.5 million sponsorship to support Sarawak Badminton, and charitable donations to underprivileged schools.
These endeavors states Pertama’s dedication to making a positive impact on society. Pertama is also committed in establishing a remarkable framework for reusing and recycling silico manganese slag across diverse sectors including civil engineering, road construction, and agriculture.
